It’s Friday! Fancy some (frugal) shopping?

Here are a few deals I found on Amazon that I thought you might like.  Each item is something I can personally recommend and is currently discounted.  (There are also some links to free stuff at the bottom.)

As always, these are affiliated links.  If you purchase through them, Amazon will divert a small percentage to me.  Thanks for supporting this blog, and happy Friday!

Method 8X Concentrated Laundry Detergent 50 loads, Free & Clear
45% off.  I’ve used this stuff for years.  I love the refill bags.

Earth Mama Angel Baby Angel Baby Bottom Balm, 2-Ounce Jar
I love this company! The discount today is 46%.

Household Essentials Large Rectangular Krush Canvas Tote Bag
I have 4 of these I use for easy laundry sorting. I just bring them empty to our laundry baskets, sort right into the totes, haul them out to the washer, and crush flat to store when not in use. I like that even when full size they are super space efficient. Right now they are $11.97 (65% off).

1000 Piece Puzzle: Harbor in Portofino, Italy
We’ve started a tradition of doing a massive puzzle over Christmas every year. This is a nice one (we have a similar one) and it’s 5 bucks off.

Belkin Headphone Splitter
We have two iPads between the three of us. On long plane rides my son gets one (a real treat for him) and my husband and I share another to watch a movies or TV shows. Since we don’t get to go to the movies together very often these days, sharing a screen on the plane is kind of a treat. For that you need a splitter. This is the one we have, and it’s 57% off now. Only $2.99. Great for upcoming holiday travel.

Sistema Klip It 16-Piece Containers, Value Pack
I’m loving these for my son’s lunch box. They are very secure. The plastic is BPA free and sturdy (it doesn’t bend in the dishwasher. I hate that!). This set is $23.89 for 8 pieces (16 if you count the lids separately, which I don’t). I just bought a single container at Target for $4.99. Oops!

Call the Midwife: Season 1
OMG, have you seen this? I was so hooked when I found it. I watched Seasons 1 and 2 in about 2 weeks. Season 3 airs in January. Season 1 is $16.99 on Amazon Instant video, and Season 2 is $22.99 (psst, Season 2 is free on Netflix – I’m lookin’ out for you, people!).

Books
Here are a few I can personally recommend, that currently have decent discounts.

Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead
I you haven’t check this out yet it’s worth a read. Very well written and thought provoking, whether you agree with her conclusions or not. It’s now $11-14 bucks, depending on the format.

Nourishing Traditions: The Cookbook that Challenges Politically Correct Nutrition and the Diet Dictocrats
Do you have this one yet? This book has practically started its own food revolution. $16.95 to “challenge the diet dictocrats”. Sounds fun!  (I’ve read my mom’s copy a bit but I think it’s time for my own.)

The Cook’s Illustrated Baking Book
Planning on doing some holiday baking? Cook’s Illustrated has the most highly researched and precise recipes. Very important for baking. It’s 30% off at $27.99. An early holiday present to yourself?

Joy of Cooking
This is a timeless classic. It has old-timey recipes, but is updated each additional to include more current preparations, too. This is my go-to reference when I’m trying something new. Also, I’ve given this as a wedding, graduation, and Christmas gift. It’s a great resource for anyone that doesn’t have it, whether they are really into cooking or not. The current price is $22.99.

Did you know Amazon always has a selection of free eBooks?  This is a list of food-related eBooks that are gratis on Amazon at the moment. Prices change quickly, so snag it right away if you’re interested. I have not read all of these, but I plan to, and heck, they’re free! Also, did you know you can lend eBooks you purchased on Amazon? Only once per book, but still, that’s pretty cool.
